Portable computing has definitely evolved over the years. We’ve gone from luggable computers to actual laptop and notebook computers, to PDAs, netbooks, and smartphones.

For getting real work done while on the go, nothing beats a laptop or notebook computer. Or does it? Another alternative, that gives you the flexibility and portability of a notebook but without the bulk, is an ultra thin laptop.

Like many writers, students, small business people and others, I use Google Docs for a variety of tasks. Google Docs makes it easy for me work, no matter where I am. And I don’t have to worry about transferring files between my computers.
