The majority of slowdowns I deal with are slow startup. Every morning I boot my laptop it takes about 7 to 10 minutes for it to complete. I know there are certain programs which my company requires to be installed that cause some of the slow startups, but I can reimage a drive with the base department load and the startup is only about 3 minutes from power on to ready to rock-n-roll. I run CCleaner, and other maintenance on my system weekly, along with simple reviews of the system’s overall performance. I am currently running Windows XP Pro. v2002 w/ SP2 on a Lenovo T61. T7300 CPU @ 2.0GHz and 2gb of ram. I have 320 gig SATA hard drive with better than 50% free space. After the laptop is booted it runs great, it’s just that the startup is getting slower and slower. I’ve also gone into the registry to see what is starting, but the reimaged systems have close to the same stuff… Any thoughts?
These are some really cool tips that are being provided as the resource to upgrade your computer. Nice information on how to upgrade your computer, but i think that this may be an expensive task.
The article your post very useful and interesting keep update
Slow boot check your cache… if you have 2GB RAM set cache to 3GB start and 4GB maximum… nrk
I am always looking for good tech blogs with NEW info. It seems like most of the tech blogs provide “copy and paste” info, in other words, the took it from somewhere else and pasted it to their blogs.
This is very refreshing to see new and original stuff.
I’ll be back!
