  1. I’m happy for the most part with Win7/64, although I’ve been through 3 new different HP printers that won’t print with it.

I have yet to put it through a stress test and see what else it WON’T do.

  5. Nice propaganda piece.  I’ve been a beta tester for W7 all year. The task bar is an improvement and a few other minor things but then you loose outlook express for a web based mail filtered through MS. No thank you. And my 3 or 4 year old HP all in one printer becomes garbage because there is no compatible softwhere. If you ask me you might as well switch to Linux and save a bundle.

W7 takes you down the dead end path of Linux until everything else conforms.

  7. I pre-ordered Windows 7 because I wanted an OS that we could use on ALL of our computers.  Have been dragging my feet to get it installed, but you have convinced me that it is time to just do it. Thanks for your informative Tip.

  9. I’ve been a Windows user for many years & have been dragged thru many a change & have been deceived before to get “The Latest & Greatest” operating system. This time I will wait & listen to what is said about “7” a year before deciding what to do about the new system. I think Microsoft should buy back their old crappy operating systems (or at least offer a credit/discount)for repeat customers who have fallen for the “Hype” of changing to the latest system. XP has been the best I’ve ever used but of course they made it so that much of the newer software won’t work with it. I’ve got Vista now & I still don’t like it as well as XP.

  13. Windows 7 is a slight improvement over vista. I love windows vista. XP was probably the best OS microsoft has ever came out with. It will never be the same. But what they need to increase their security problems.

  15. Well, it sounds like Microsoft newest version will still be the same old “crap” as with Vista, and a few of their previous versions. I had a hell of a time getting my HP 4-in-one printer to work with Vista and it sounds like “7” has the same kinds of issues. NO THANKS! Linux is looking better & better.

  17. Microsoft has always been very successful in creating hyping and this time again no exception, Windows 7 is nothing but hype, and no better than their old OS i.e. Vista

  19. I think you are right! Win 7 is the next important os. unlike vista.

  21. Good post. I just bought a laptop with Windows 7 installed and it is so much better than Vista. Thanks for the post, it was helpful and validates why Windows 7 is better.

  23. I purchased a new laptop and was promised upgrade of win 7.Finally received and Installed and had no prob.I have exp on my other PC and am trying to see which is best.
Up to now it is a might confusing to go back and forth seeing the difference.
I do notice the change with win 7 but will still have to test this more.

  25. Haven’t tried 7 yet.  Vista scared the S#@t out of me. Had to go back to XP.  Microsoft should have refunded money.
