You’ve got some good tips in this article, but you didn’t cover the topic with as much detail as I’d have liked. You left out several very important pieces of information, a crucial oversight.
For one thing, you claimed that all the legal music services limited you with DRM protection. That’s not quite true. eMusic, which you mentioned, does not follow that rule. It lets you download all it’s music in .mp3 format, not protected by DRM and compatible with any player in the world.
That’s a very exciting feature, I believe that it’s really worth mentioning.
Also, you seemed to suggest that the only 2 possibilities for obtaining music files legally were to burn them off a CD or buy them online. That’s not quite true. There are a number of legal methods of getting free .mp3 files on the Internet.
Download.com now has a music section with over 75,000 songs available for free download, with permission from the artist. Just go to music.download.com
There are other websites that contain a list of songs distributed for free by the copyright holder, such as mp34u.com and podsafeaudio.com
