Canned Air Computer Maintenance

Many people don’t think of their computer when doing a bit of cleaning around the home, but perhaps they should. We’re talking about an effort far less unpleasant than doing windows or cleaning the bathroom, and the use of a can of compressed air can take care of a bulk of the work for you.

Cleaning your system on a somewhat regular basis can easily help extend the life of components, increase system stability, and reduce noise. This Tech Tip will take a look at a few areas to focus on, and all you really need to do is open your case and pull the trigger!

  1. Air in a can is fine, except for where it might drive the dust.  Using a home vacum cleaner can be very hazardous to your computer health because of the electromagnetic flux lines it emits from it’s electric motor.  It can cause a multitude of strange unpredictable problems with your CPU.  Don’t do it!

  3. It has to be done carefully. Especially a powerful vaccume can damage the Motherboard.

  5. I’M GLAD I READ THE ARTICAL ON CANNED AIR. IT WAS THE FIRST THAT I HAD HEARD OF IT.IT WOULD MAKE THINGS MUCH QUICKER FOR ME,BECAUSE I USUALLY USE THE TECH VAC AND WHILE IT IS OK IT TAKES UP ALOT OF TIME WHEN CLEANING THE FAN AND THE CANNED AIR WILL GET TO THOSE HARD TO REACH PLACES. THANK YOU.
