Perhaps you want to relive your wedding, or post the video of you and your friends lip-synching “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” from the 7th grade talent show on YouTube. 3. I looked at the specs for the JVC GR-D347US you suggested as a bridge between VCR and computer and did not see anything that suggests it has pass through technology or a video input capability.  ????  Thanks, John

  5. Sony’s DVDirect is a much better solution if you don’t need to edit the content.

  7. Having a tech discussion of manipulating video is great.  Necessary information for posting, etc.  When I wanted tape conversion, and recording programs direct to DVD, I bought a Toshiba VHS/DVD recorder/player.  Not only can I record directly to DVD (or tape - but who would want to?), but I can transfer a tape to DVD with one button and walk away or watch another program on TV while it is transferred in real time.  KISS works best for me!
