Tech Tip 127 - Five Must-Have Firefox Extensions
Unless you’ve been living atop a tree over the past few years, you’ve undoubtedly heard of the Firefox Web browser. Love it or hate it (and there are people in both camps), you have to admit that Firefox is a very strong and very flexible application. A lot of its flexibility comes from its extensions.
Extensions are tiny bits of software that you install “on top of” Firefox which greatly expand its features and capabilities. There are literally hundreds of extensions which enable Firefox to work more effectively with any number of online services, manage downloads, analyze and edit Web sites, improve the security of the browser, and more.
I use FireFox always. It great when I can change themes to suit my mood. On my computer it seems to run faster and more smooth the IE. I’ve been using it over a year, and very satisfied with it. recommend it to everyone to try.
In this one you forgot to mention an all important tool to help save your bookmarks from a drive restore or crash. Its called Gbookmarks and can be found via the following.
But can you get rid of the google toolbar?
it’s inmpossible to get rid of google bar
u can find it in tags.
There’s no inflution on your page if u get one
can any one help me to buy a cheaper (price) laptop for my studies ?
My most-used extension is Scrapbook. It allows you to capture an entire page on your computer for future viewing. This comes in handy for such things as receipts that cannot be printed at the time. just capture the page and print at a later date if needed.
Of all five, I use one: PDF Download. The rest are fluff, except perhaps IE Tab. (I hate IE, so I don’t use it.) But you neglected two major add-ons most people _should_ use—Adblock and NoScript; as well as some very handy ones: Clear Cache button, Tab to Window, and Session Manager.
Firefox runs on various versions of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and many other Unix-like operating systems..
Wonder if there will ever be a firefox available for the iPhone, or will that be in violation of some kind of GPL license?
Thanks David! Very nice!
I don’t use firefox at all. Don’t know whats the fuss, I tried it but didn’t like it. Its nice though. I’m a Opera fan.

PaulI use Firefox as there are so many valuable tools that help me with my daily work. For any of you interested I highly recommend scribefire - allows you to create wordpress posts offline and post when you connect.
I switched to Firefox years ago. Will all the available plugins, it’s by far the most versatile browser on the market.
The great thing about Firefox’s extensions is that it can make an already powerful and flexible browser do even more so that I can do even more.
Thanks a ton for these plugins.. Much appreciated.!
SEOQuake is a must for SEO/webmasters!
very useful shared w.r.t firefox. its market cap is increasing and IE is getting beaten up..
The most “useful” extensions vary from person to person, that’s why there are so many to begin with. No one can really tell you what the most useful ones are because what may be useful to them may be utter junk to you.
